I have continued the color of my living room SW 6141 into my Kitchen area. The kitchen joins with the family which I have painted Basket Beige with an accent wall using SW Cordial. My cabinets are a honey oak. The soffits above Kitchen cabinets are also painted Basket beige. Simple question is does SW 6141 look okay with the Basket Beige?
To answer your question, yes, Softer Tan definitely works with Basket Beige! Since BB is two shades darker than Softer Tan, it works perfect for an accent color above the cabinets. That being said, it is very neutral and if you have honey oak cabinets, you might think about using Cordial up there to add some pop and some color. Let me know what you end up doing! I would love to hear.

Hi Laura! My husband and I are building a new house and it’s time to elect an exterior color. We had our builder paint a 3×7 section of the house in different colors and so far we like Basket Beige. But I’m concerned about the green undertones as green isn’t my favorite color. We paired it with SW 7006 Extra White on window trim and have Dark Bronze Anderson windows. Thoughts or other paint color suggestions in a similar color but without green undertones? Thanks so much!
I am having a discussion with my office. They have add accent walls painted with 6143- Basket Beige to get rid a green accent walls that they did not like. I keep telling them them this is just another shade of green. What is the mixture that makes up this color, I bet I am not the only person who thinks it has a lot of green in it!
Great question! I love that your office is having a discussion about it! 🙂 You are correct that Basket Beige has some green as an undertone. It is considered a Green-Beige color, so it has some brown/beige undertones as well as some green undertones. If you want a neutral that doesn’t have green undertones, consider a color like Balanced Beige that is more taupe than beige, but is a great in-between “greige” color (not too beige, not too gray).
I just painted my living room Accessible Beige, it’s open to my kitcken. My kitchen cabinets a combination of cherry wood & (Sherwin Williams) Antique White , which takes up half of my 13 × 18 kitchen. I was thinking of painting the rest of the kitchen Basket Beige , or Savannah red. What do you think? Thanks for the help!
My only concern with Basket Beige is it feeling too dark with your cherry wood cabinets. I would consider continuing the Accessible Beige into the kitchen to keep it light and open feeling. It will also help keep the areas flowing and connected without it seeming choppy with a different color.
If you would like more detailed help, I would love to assist you with a Color Consultation. Let me know what you think!
My main level is Basket Beige but I would like to paint my dining room a greige color. What greige color would you suggest that will still flow with the Basket Beige in every other room. My main floor is completely open so it really needs to flow.
Basket Beige has a green-beige undertone, but is still very warm. I would try a blue-gray color instead of a greige to coordinate. Lattice is one of my favorite blue-grays. I have warmer floors and it still looks great with it! Get a large sample board to test it out. If you need further help, I offer Color Consultations to get the color right for your space by viewing pictures and doing a live FaceTime. Let me know if you are interested!
I have my living room walls in Basket Beige, casings are dark wood, floors are dark oak. I’m recovering my couch and wondering what color to go with. Any suggestions?
I would go with a lighter beige/tan color or even a cream to balance and contrast the darker wood and wall color. Let me know what you decide! Thank you!
