    Hello! We are painting our home Dorian Gray by Sherwin WIlliams. The trim is white. I am looking for suggestions for a door color. I am thinking about Expressive plum, Jasper Stone or possibly a shade of blue. Please advise! Thank you!

      Hi Kristen,

      I think any of those colors would work with Dorian Gray and white trim! Some questions to think about: What is the style of my home? (Contemporary? Traditional?) What is the style of the neighborhood? What colors do I have in my interior that I could tie in with my door color?

    Hi Laura,
    I painted my dining room with Repose Gray walls and the tray ceiling color with Dorian Gray. It has white trim throughout. I also have a fireplace with silver, black, and brushed nickel accents. The windows have 2″ white plantation shutters on the bottom portion with a steel gray, silver, black, and beige in the valances. My kitchen flows with two french doors into the dining room. Both rooms are expansive. I was wondering whether I should connect the two areas together with a coordinating color scheme. I was thinking of using Dorian Gray on my cabinets, but unsure about the walls. The kitchen trim is also white with white ceiling. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi Susan,

      I like your idea to connect both rooms, especially since they open to each other with french doors. One thought is to use Repose Gray in your kitchen also. This of course is if your other fixed elements (countertops, etc.) work well with that color. You could paint your cabinets Dorian Gray, but I am a fan of keeping kitchen cabinets white for more of a classic and timeless look. You could paint your island the Dorian Gray to connect the rooms in another way.

    HI Laura,

    We are having trouble choosing wall colors that will coordiNate with our Dorian Gray painted kitchen cabinets. We are looking at either Repose Gray or Agreeable Gray for the walls, but we would like to add an accent color to the soffits, maybe a bold pop of color? We were thinking of something in the red family. Would you have some suggestions? Any advise would be very appreciated. My head is spinning!

      Hi Sue,

      I like your thought of using Repose Gray since it is a few shades lighter than Dorian Gray. I tend to lean more towards the cooler colors, so I envisioned a bold pop of a darker teal or aqua blue!! Red could work, if you have accents in that color already.

    Hi Laura, just painted living room dorian gray, connecting kitchen/dining room open floor plan repose gray. both rooms have white trim and crown moulding. there is a back hall off kitchen leading to sea salt bathroom, then front hallway leading up stairs and second floor. i wanted to keep the same hallway paint throughout to keep it simple. I found the color palette of dorian-repose-sea salt-muslin. but the muslin was way too yellow for my taste. Now i am back to drawing board (after painting whole downstairs hallways) for a hall color. thinking smokey taupe or now i just saw your recommendation of diverse beige or jogging path…
    thoughts?

      Hi Pamela,

      I would consider going with Repose Gray to keep things simple and to tie in the other colors in the house. I personally love Repose Gray and it will be a perfect transition color to the other areas of the home. IF you would really like a warmer color, I like the option of a warm greige.     We recently changed out kitchen cabinets from white to repose gray. The walls were paint d silver strand. To me, the shades are too matchy matchy in tone and the walls make the repose gray a bit purple in tone. I would like to pick a new wall color that will make the repose gray pop and really play up the gray tone. Also I don’t know hat color to paint the small areas of bulkhead above the gray repose cabinets. Thoughts?

    Hi Laura,
    We recently had to remediate due to condensation issues caused by the high humidity this summer. Since I will need to paint the newly renovated areas I thought it would be a good opportunity to change paint color in foyer leading to the living room. The family room is next to the foyer and is painted Pratt and Lambert Sage Green. I’m looking at Sherrie Williams grays and thinking amazing gray or agreeable gray. Which one would do a better job at complimenting the Sage Green?

    Hello…I have a living room currently in “earthenware” and looking to freshen up a bit with a gray color to blend with our new incoming furniture and to lighten it up a little…I am leaning toward dorian or mindful gray, that is about as light as I can mentally go. my problem is to blend the connecting kitchen. It has not been updated yet and has ugly beige band aid looking laminate countertops…very difficult to find a paint color not too dark that will coordinate with that. If you can give me some advise that would be great.

    Hi, would Dorian gray work as an accent wall in a bedroom with Krypton as the rest of the room? Can you suggest other accent wall colors for Krypton? Bedroom does not get much natural light so don’t want to go to dark but would like some color in the space. Thanks.

    Happy Monday!

    We are in the process of picking paints for our home. It is an open ranch floor plan with a small kitchen/dining room in the middle and a well lit family room on one side and a darker living room on the other. We have decided to use accessible beige in the family room as it seems to go better with the brown leather furniture and beige and green decorations. Dorian in the kitchen and living room with Gauntlet grey on the bottom cabinets and alabaster on the top. We have considered painting the center island urbane bronze but I’m not sold with the test patches yet. There is one wall that we wanted to paint as an accent wall and am struggling with what to paint to coordinate with the dorian. The wall runs from the dining room to the living room. The dining room table is black with a grouping of burlap/beige/black art work on the walls. Also, am really on the fence about the center island. Should we keep that gauntlet gray or use somethinf different and just use the accent wall for another color? Two colors I wanted to try were Retrest and Gale Force. Going for a warm farm houseish vibe.

    I really appreciate any advice as I think I’m driving my boyfriend nuts with all the color choices 😉

    Sorry, I didn’t clarify. Was thinking of Galeforce or Retreat as the accent. And either keep with the Gauntlet gray for the center island or possibly use the color we pick for the accent wall or even considered Black Fox or Peppercorn. The kitchen floors are a dark brown hardwood. So many choices! ?

    Hi, my kitchen and living area are Dorian Gray. I would like to use a greige in the dining room and on the walls going upstairs. You can see these from the kitchen. Any ideas on coordinating greiges or grays that would work with Dorian? Thank you so much!

      I have the same question. I’m about to paint the exterior of my 1890s farmhouse in Dorian Gray, and I keep changing my mind about the best white to use for the trim. My house has bright white vinyl windows, and I’m thinking of painting the trim around them, and the eaves, in Snowbound SW 7004.

    We are in the process of painting the exterior of our house. After much consideration we choose Dorian Gray. We have one side of the house painted and it looks a little green to me. I was trying to avoid a blue undertone. Does Dorian Gray have a green undertone? Could we be getting reflection from the grass lawn? Do you have any other recommendations?
