Do you think macadamia will clash with restrained gold? I’m think king of painting my kitchen macadamia but the hallway heading to it is painted in restrained gold. Thanks.
Great question! My advice would be to pick a neutral that is a bit warmer than Macadamia since it has a slight green undertone. There are several warmer neutrals that would work with Restrained Gold. I would love to help you pick the perfect color for your kitchen with a custom Interior Color Consultation. Here is the link for more information:
We are renovating our kitchen and painting the entire lower level. Cabinets are Benjamin Moore Natural Wicker, wall Macademia. I think I like it but sense a green cast during some times of the day. We were going to take the Macadamia into the adjoining great room with 18′ ceilings but am concerned about the possible green cast. Would changing to the Kilm Beige be a wise choice for the great room? Trim is poplar with a bit of a reddish (fruitwood?) stain. The transition from kitchen to great room is separated by stained wood trim. At this point I don’t want to repainted the kitchen, laundry room and dining room but again am concerned about the possible green cast. Thanks for any thoughts you might offer.
I totally understand your concern about the paint changing color in a different room! I would get a sample board to test out the Macadamia first to see how it looks. Kilim Beige has a pink-beige undertone, but it could work in your other spaces, depending on your other fixed design elements (flooring, etc.). I would love to help you pick the perfect color with an Interior Color Consultation! Here is the link for more information:
I am wanting to paint my master bath and bedroom. I am leaning towards macadamia for the bathroom and was wondering what color of white compliments the macadamia best. The master bath I was thinking of painting a Navajo white. Would the transition of colors from the two rooms be ok?
Macadamia and Navajo White in each room would transition nicely! I think either a bright white or a creamy white would work well with both colors for the trim, etc. I would love to help you find the perfect white through an Interior Color Consultation! Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks, Donna, for reaching out and I hope to hear from you soon!

I have Macademia in the foyer and kitchen. I am painting the dining room and would love to know a soft neutral color that would coordinate with Macademia. Thanks!
There are lots of options for a soft neutral to coordinate with Macadamia. I like using soft blue-grays with warmer colors like Macadamia. I have a few favorite blue-grays that would coordinate well and would love to help you find the perfect one through an Interior Color Consultation!
Thank you for reaching out, Laura. I hope to hear from you soon!
I am painting my walls with SW Macadamia. The moulding will be Extra White 7006. The ceiling has “popcorn” and is not in great shape and is 9 feet tall. If I painted the ceiling a lighter shade of Macadamia (like 30%) would that help the unevenness of the ceiling be camouflaged and be a better choice than white?
I agree with you that a lighter version of Macadamia would help camouflage your ceiling versus a bright white. Also, make sure to get a flat finish. That will also help draw attention away from any flaws and lesson the popcorn texture look. Keep me posted on how everything turns out!
Thanks for reaching out, Linda! Let me know if I can help with anything else through an Interior Color Consultation.
Our walls in our house were all painted in Macadamia by the builder. While I like it, I’d like to do our office in something a little different. We have purchsed a desk/file cabinet from Ikia in the Brown/Black color.
The room is approx 12×12.5. We also have a day bed in there and use it as an extra sleeping space for guests.
What color would coordinate? Can we do anything in the gray arena?
I like your thoughts of doing something different in your office/guest room! Macadamia is a pretty nutty beige that looks great paired with soft blue-grays. I have several favorites that would look great with Macadamia. Let me know if you would like help finding the perfect one through an Interior Color Consultation.
Thanks, Deborah! You are on the right track and I would sincerely love to help you finish coordinating your colors. I hope to talk with you soon. 🙂

I am working on my sons nursery and have chosen to do a dark green accent wall in the color Secret Garden by Sherwin Williams. It’s beautiful but I am having so much trouble figuring out what color beige/tan to paint the other 3 walls. Macadamia is the front runner but I’m just not sure. Any suggestions?
Macadamia is a great choice! It’s a nutty beige that will go well with the Secret Garden color. If you want to a go a bit softer, go one shade lighter. Have fun decorating your son’s nursery! Send pictures if you get a chance!

I recently painted the walls of a north-facing sitting room with one small window SW Macadamia. The craftsman trim and beadboard ceiling in the same room is SW Muslin. So far, so good. I like the room. It’s cozy.
Now, my south-facing kitchen, which can be seen from the sitting room, has considerably more light from french doors and two windows. The cabinets, trim and beadboard ceiling in the kitchen are SW Muslin, just like the sitting room, but I haven’t yet painted the kitchen walls. Do you think SW Macadamia play nicely with my south-facing kitchen and its blue-green and copper color scheme?
Thanks so much for reaching out! Since you have more light coming in the kitchen, you may want to go one shade darker than Macadamia in there. Paint some large samples of both and test them out around the kitchen to see which color looks best.
Let me know if I can help you nail down the right color through an Interior Color Consultation! I can view pictures of your space and help you make the best decision. It can be tricky sometimes!
