Lovely colors. Want to change my maroon (red rouge) accent walls to something different. All trim, blinds, baseboards, crown molding are Navajo white. I also have a maroon oriental carpet with gray/peach/bluish accents. Would malobar SW 9110 work for the walls?
Thanks for reaching out! I don’t know what color your floors are or other elements in your space, but based on what you told me, it sounds like it will work. Try a sample board and see how it looks in your space first. If you are interested in Color Consultation, I can help you find the perfect color to work with your colors. Let me know!

I just came across this page. Malabar seems to be a beautiful color! But it also seems almost identical to Nantucket Dune. I wonder why one would choose one over the other, since they are SO similar?
Great question! They are very similar. The best way to find out which will work in your space is to grab some samples and test them out. I like to paint a large white piece of cardboard with the sample so you can move them around on different walls. Be sure to check them out at different times of day in your lighting to see which ones looks best!
The paint consultant suggests malibar for open floor plan kitchen and living area. Accent color latte. White cabinets in kitchen and warm beige colors in countertop and back splash
Tile flooring is yellowish thought I was getting a warm neutral but looks more like grey. Latte wall accent in Dining room is fine. What do u think? Is this a disaster?
Malabar is categorized under the “yellows” in the SW paint deck, however, if it is not turning out as a good match when tested in your space, you may need a different color that has even more of a yellow undertone to coordinate better with your flooring. There are so many golden/beiges to choose from, but one similar to Softer Tan sounds like it would work well. You could also try going a few shades lighter than Latte with Kilim Beige to see how it looks since the accent wall works in your lighting. Let me know how it goes as you test a few other colors!

Hello from a near future client ,
Does Malabar have a green undertone? Or am I just seeing things? Same question for Antler Velvet. We painted sample boards of both, and I keep seeing a bit of green.
The open floor plan has plenty of southern light , and even more western light( some east too, just a little bit) Put it this way, during summer the sun sits on my sofa flipping through channels till almost 9pm! We live in S. Fla of course. The floors are a light shiny tile in the yellow/orange? family. and the kitchen cabs are cream color/ they read yellow. So that cant be the reason for the green I MIGHT be seeing… can it? I almost with with Amzing Gray , but it too is GREEN.
Cheers,

Thank you for your comment! Also, I look forward to working with you on your Color Consultation. To answer your question about Malabar, it sounds like your lighting was causing it to look greenish. In comparison to colors like Relaxed Khaki, Malabar doesn’t typically have a green undertone, so that is why I say that is might be your lighting. I am thinking that a warm neutral that has more of the golden undertones that coordinate with your flooring will work better in your space.
