One of my clients has Nomadic Desert in several rooms of her home and it does not come across looking orange. That being said, it is always wise to test colors out in your lighting first, because it could change based on the space and the way the light hits during different times of the day. If you are worried about undertones and won’t have a chance to test the paint color out before moving in, then I may go with a neutral beige with some taupe in it like Balanced Beige. Or, even more of greige neutral like Anew Gray. Let me know if I can Color Consultation! Thank you!
Hi, I’m looking for a neutral color for my kitchen, living room, hallway that has a warm feel but would go well with grey kitchen cabinets and white trim. Would nomadic desert work? Or are there any other neutrals you would suggest?
I’m so sorry for my delayed response! I’m catching up on my comments and hope I can still help. I love Nomadic Desert. However, I might try Anew Gray, which has a warm tone, but coordinates well with gray. Let me know if I can help further! Thank you!
We are considering painting our foyer nomadic desert. Our main concern is if it coordinates with grassland in the kitchen and stone lion in the living/dining rooms. Do you think nomadic desert would complement these colors or is there another beige that would work better? We thought Kilm beige might be too light.
Thank you for reaching out! Nomadic Desert could work, but it’s a lot warmer in tone than Stone Lion. I would recommend getting a sample and see how it turns out in your lighting. A few other to try are: Malabar, Bungalow Beige or Balanced Beige. Let me know if you have any more questions or need further help!
I am considering Kilim Beige in foyer and walls leading to upstairs, living room svelte sage, dining room upper svelte sage and lower wainscoating either kilim beige or nomadic desert, kitchen same as dining room (connected) and family room nomadic desert (which connects through opening to kitchen.
Does this seem reasonable. I have painted boards and all three colors seem to go well together. Nervous that svelte sage might be too dark for family room so went with nomadic desert as #1 choice so far. Process is driving be nuts though. Can’t seem to land on the best solution.
Sounds like you are headed in the right direction! Kilim Beige, Nomadic Desert and Svelte Sage all coordinate well together. You did the right thing by using painted boards to test them out in your spaces first. π If you still not sure or need more assistance, I would be happy to help through a Color Consultation. Thank you so much for reaching out!
I loved this color at a friend’s house so much that I bought 2 gallons and went to town. Painted my entry through to my dining room this color, along with my guest room. My then 16yr old daughter loved the color and painted her room the same thing.
I don’t like orang-ie colors and to answer the gal above, it doesn’t have a orang-ie tone to it at all. To me, its just a great creamy color.
We are considering using Nomadic Desert as the main exterior color of our house and Kilim Beige as the coordinating trim color. We also recently installed a new Clopay garage in Walnut Brown color. We may also use the Walnut Brown to accent some trim work around the house. What do you think of Nomadic Desert and Kilim Beige for exterior colors. Our existing paint color has too much pink tones it and we’re looking for a nice warm beige color.
Nomadic Desert and Kilim Beige are colors that can definitely work for exteriors, but I like to use a bit more contrast with the body color and trim color. I suggest making some sample boards to test them out on your home to see how you feel about it. There are a few other warm beige colors that I really like on exteriors that don’t have pinkish undertones.
Hi, We just finished painting our one story ranch home exterior with Nomadic Desert, the trim was Divine White and then we used an accent color of Weathered Brown on the Gables and the Garage Door. I love the dark as the contrast and looks really nice. I need help with deciding the color for the concrete walkway around the house and the concrete path leading up to the front door. What color would you recommend that would complement those 3 colors.
I might go with an a color that is in between Nomadic Desert and Weathered Brown. It would compliment the two colors, but not blend in completely. If you would like to nail down the perfect color, I can help through an Exterior Color Consultation!
Thanks for reaching out! I hope to hear from you soon.

Yes, I think they definitely can! Latte and Nomadic Beige are warmer beiges and will go nicely with the cherry woodwork/cabinets. I do always recommend trying a sample first to be sure it works in your lighting and with your other selections (backsplash, countertops, etc.). I have a open floor plan with the whole house painted in SW 6107 Nomadic Desert. I am waiting to paint a small accent wall above the kitchen cabinets to kind of set the kitchen apart from the living room. What color would you suggest? Would the SW 6164 Svelte Sage make it look to dark?
I think Svelte Sage could definitely work! I also really like Nomadic Desert paired with blue-grays. Let me know if I can help you narrow down your choices through a Color Consult:
Thank you so much for the Triad Color Scheme above. We painted our main floor, upstairs hall, and open loft area with Nomadic Desert, and Debonair, and the powder room with Salty Dog based on an HGTV SW color scheme available at Lowes. Over a year later we’re finally getting to the kids’ rooms, the boys wanted green as a main color and the girls wanted purple, so your triad using Clary Sage and Ash Violet created a wonderful launch point to begin their room vision boards.
I painted our kitchen with Nomadic Desert, this room gets southern and northern light exposure. I want to paint the sunken living room that is off of the kitchen a lighter color as it doesn’t get much light due to it being a western exposure with only one window. Would Kilim Beige be a good choice or should I go lighter due to the room being dark.
If I went lighter could I have the store add 25% white to Kilim Beige or do you suggest a totally different paint color?
I also have dark wood trim.
Thank you so much.

Does this color ever tend to look like it has an undertone of orange to it? On the sherwin williams site, it has this color listed under “orange.” My fiancΓ© and I want a neutral beige color for our home that we are building with no yellow, orange, or pink undertones – just neutral. We didn’t choose Kilim beige because we thought it might be just a bit too light, so we chose nomadic desert, but now I am concerned that we may have made the wrong choice.
