I’m so glad to have stumbled upon your site and happy that you are using SW colors; it’s so helpful. I used a Color Muse to analyze my existing ceiling and beam color and it showed a match to SW Greek Villa. My existing walls matched to SW Alabaster (though the existing walls are pretty dingy). I understand that these two are analogous colors (as you show) and I’m finding that in bright natural light, they do seem to work together. But, during cloudy pacific NW days, the ceiling looks like putty; yuck!!! I am hoping that the added light reflection from new Alabaster paint will help brighten the ceiling. What do you think? I’m so glad that you found me! Color matching can be tricky and unfortunately it isn’t always 100% correct. If your ceilings are looking dingy, I would consider painting them a brighter white. Extra White is my go-to bright white that is perfect on ceilings to really brighten and open up spaces. It also pairs well with Alabaster for a wall color. I think you will be really happy to freshen up your home with a new bright white! It makes such a huge difference and have seen the results in my own home. Keep me posted on your progress!
I am interested in your exterior color consultation. I am looking to change the tone of of my home from mediterranean to transitional coastal. I am at the start of a re-roof, (removing barrel tile and replacing with flat tile in a medium gray with blue undertones), and need to add a decorative rail in one area. Would you be able to provide consultation on where to add accent trim (i.e. decorative rail, or shutters, gates…), as well as, the color scheme? Im know that I want the body of the house to be white (like the Greek Villa and alabaster) and have been thinking about Sea Salt for the front door. The exterior of the home has many facets that don’t allow wall space for conventional shutters on all of the walls, which is why I’m trying to figure out how to make use of an accent color. Keeping it simple is probably best. In the end I may only need body of house and front door consultation (assuming garages, fascia board columns are same color as house – my current thoughts.) How do you recommend that I proceed?
