What would you recommend as a door color (east facing, so it gets VERY hot) if the siding is halcyon green in a three story coastal (we live on an island so we can be as brave and quirky as we want to be) home? Thanks SO much! I’ve tried three different colors and none of them worked (SW pool blue, tricorn black (too hot), and the original color (teal/blue).
Hi there,
I love that you can have fun with your door color! The options are endless, but if you have direct sun, I color that is not too dark is best. What if you tried Coral Reef? It is a gorgeous coral color that won Color of the Year with Sherwin Williams. It would look perfect next to Halcyon Green and be a really fun pop of color. Also, a fun lime green would be cool. Melange Green or Parakeet would work. Let me know what you end up deciding!! And send me a picture!
Hello1 I bought Sherwin Williams paint on sale this past weekend, but without tinting! I have to take the paint back to be tinted tomorrow for our painter on Monday!! I wish I Had seen your color consultation previously, I would have put it in my budget. Painting is akin to opening Pandora’s Box!
I wish to know how to use your color schemes. Like Halcyon for example, would be an additional color to analogous color scheme shown above? And so forth with the other schemes you provide?
Thank you so much!!
Nancy
this is for an exterior paint job.by the way.
Hi Nancy,
I’m so sorry! I totally understand. Finding the right paint color can be tough. The color schemes for the Color Wheel are meant to be a starting off point for a scheme. The color combinations are meant to be used within the “analogous” or “triad” schemes and not necessarily cross over. However, that doesn’t mean that they can’t!
I would love to help you through an Exterior Color Consultation if it isn’t too late. I understand budget constraints, so for the month of July I am offering 15% off a Consultation for my subscribers.
Thank you for reaching out and I hope to hear from you!
