We ended up painting our bedroom Oyster Bay. In our light, it pulls blue. I didn’t want blue, but I am really happy with the color, so I am accenting with creams, light blues, some teal, and grey green. We have grey green tile in the bathroom that is wainscoting. We have a vaulted ceiling in our bedroom, and the top part of the walls are Madison Blanche. We are using that in the bathroom, with the wall behind the vanity and wall cabinet white with some grey shiplap. The shiplap is also going on the wall behind our bed. Going to take the plunge, and paint the bathroom ceiling Oyster Bay, with wide white molding. Painting the vanity and cabinet charcoal grey. Everything is chrome. I’ve spent the last three days stripping paper in the bathroom, not done yet, and it is a small bathroom??
We are about to paint our new siding Oyster Bay. I want a soft off white for the trim but my partner prefers more of a cream color. Is there a color that would please us both that goes well with Oyster Bay? Also trying to find a good color to paint the concrete porch and a pop color for the front door—which is a whole other situation. There are 2 doors to the front of the house. Do we paint them the same color? Thanks so much for your help!
Did you ever get a reply on your Oyster Bay looking like baby blue question? We just had a very large accent wall painted in a similar size room also with a lot of natural light and had the exact same experience – gray green in the upper corner (the color we more expected) and a baby blue look everywhere else – a color totally inappropriate for the space and house. It was a Sherwin Williams in home consultant that picked the colors but she did not deal with our circumstances apparently – lighting, etc. We painted Oyster Bay on a small area wall in an adjoining room (open so can see both at the same time) and it was the perfect gray green (no direct light on that wall) – so really disappointed with most of the big wall now being baby blue. Not sure how to fix the issue with out repainting everything we just spent money and time to do.
I’m so sorry that Oyster Bay didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to. Blues can be tricky and it sounds like the lighting played a part in it turning more baby blue, especially since it looked great in your other room. I know you just spent time and money, so I understand your frustration. I can email you a coupon code for a Color Consultation that includes a FaceTime if you would like me to take a look and help you problem solve/find a new color.
I hope to be able to work with you to find the best solution for you space!
We are building and I am picking out paint colors. I am thinking oyster bay for the open living and kitchen with a stone fireplace. Is this color too blue/green for such a large space?
Oyster Bay might be a bit saturated for an overall main wall color, but Sea Salt (one shade lighter) could work! I have a good friend who has Sea Salt as her all-over color and it is beautiful! Grab a sample and test it out on your walls to see how it looks in your lighting. If you still need help picking out the right paint color for your space, I would love to help through a Color Consultation!
I found Sea Salt to be way too pale baby blue in my house. I used Oyster Bay in my Great Room and Kitchen/Breakfast Room. Looks amazing-keeping in mind I only have a few uninterrupted walls. Makes all of my wall decor pop! Hoping your suggestions for complimentary colors work for the adjoining hall and foyer. Right now just lots of paint samples on the walls. Love your blog!
Hello!
I am looking to paint my laundry room floor (currently painted concrete) in Oyster Bay. My trim and doors are currently painted Divine White. I am looking for a wall color that is a decent contrast to the Divine White but not too dark as it’s in our basement and there’s no natural light. Our walls in our adjoining (but separate) living room are Latte and trim is Divine White. I thought about Kilm Beige but fear it may be too dark. What do you think? Would there be another color you would reccomend as a wall color that would be a little lighter than Kilm Beige and would still look nice with the Divine White?
I would suggest Kilim Beige since it’s one shade up from Divine White and will create some contrast. Test out a sample and see how it looks first. If it’s feeling too dark, see if your Sherwin-Williams store can mix it up at 50 or 75%.
Keep me posted on what you decide! I would love to see a picture of your finished laundry room, especially with the pained floor in Oyster Bay. 🙂
Hello Laura! Thank you so much for your reply and advice…you are awesome! I plan to start painting in the next week or two…..Graduation is coming quick! I’ll definitely send pics of my before and after!
Thanks again!

My entire house is painted in SW softer tan. Trying to add some color to some room and thinking of oyster bay for the dining room, but I’m having a hard time convincing myself the colors look ok together. I’m also considering silver mist and sea salt for other rooms, but again, am struggling to decide if they all look ok with the overwhelming amount of softer tan.
Thanks for reaching out! Actually, yes, Softer Tan works great with colors like Oyster Bay, Silver Mist and Sea Salt. The warmth of the Softer Tan compliments the blue-green undertones in the other colors quite well. If you are still having trouble and need help coordinating colors, please feel free to reach out for an Interior Color Consultation!
Thanks for reaching out! Navy would be gorgeous with Oyster Bay! I would love to see the finished results. 🙂 If you need a good navy, I have several that I love and can help you find the perfect one through an Interior Color Consultation!
[…] Silverpointe in the spare room, you could do a medium-toned blue/green-gray in the bathroom, like Oyster Bay or Acacia Haze. I would love to know what you end up deciding […]
