I painted a spare bedroom sensible hue last weekend. I wanted a soft greyish green. It turned out lighter than what I thought it would be and I don’t see much grey. It almost looks like a sea foam green when the sun is shinning in the room. I primed the walls before painting so nothing would peak through. when I hold the color sample to the wall, it blends in perfectly. My carpet is a light tan. The room is on the southeast corner of the house and gets a lot of light. Do you think if I got a medium grey curtain that it would pull out the grey tones in the paint? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you for reaching out! Yes, Sensible Hue definitely has a green undertone that can come through stronger depending on your lighting. I’m sorry that it turned too green for your liking! I do think that it could help to use more grays in your drapes, bedding, wall art, etc. to pull out more of the gray undertones vs. the green.
If you are still having trouble and would like to start from scratch finding the right color, I would love to help through an Interior Color Consultation!
Hi Laura!
I’m painting the outside of my house Sensible Hue. I am using Extra White for the trim but still need a color for my front door and shutters. I’m thinking a dark gray, maybe Peppercorn or Grizzle Gray. What are your thoughts? Any help is much appreciated!! (It must a be a sherwin Williams color)
I really like your idea of using Peppercorn or Grizzle Gray! Grab samples of both and see how they look on your exterior. Keep in mind that colors get lighter in natural lighting outdoors. Keep me posted on your progress and let me know if you need further help!
My kitchen is sensible hue with cream cabinets….. Accessible beige is in the foyer…. Struggling with what to paint the dining room that is right off of the kitchen…. Retreat? Wool Skein? Whole Wheat?
