Accessible Beige Review: Instantly transform your space

Accessible Beige Monochromatic Color Scheme sm1For this month’s Color Review, I’m going back to my neutral “comfort zone.” I can’t help it that I am drawn to softer more monochromatic palettes! Simplicity and calm are my vibe, therefore I am excited to share with you my Accessible Beige Color Review! I specify Accessible Beige a ton in my Interior Color Consultations, and let me tell you that it has proven time and time again to be very accessible! The reason that I end up specifying Accessible Beige so much is that it is one of those versatile neutrals that is “not too golden, not too gray,” as I like to say.

Perfect Greige Color Review

perfect greige complementary color schemeI’ll be perfectly (ha!) transparent here. I have not used this color much (if at all) in my Color Consultations. I was sitting here wondering why. Then, I realized that most colors that I choose accomplish what I need them to without having to try a ton of other colors. I have my go-to warm greiges that I know will look good and I pretty much stick to them. If you are wondering what they are, keep reading! Perfect Greige is even warmer than my go-to’s and is just one of those colors that must work in the right space. It has a slight mauve undertone that in some lights…

Greek Villa is definitely the 1 classy white you are looking for

Greek Villa Complementary Color SchemeGreek Villa is a beautiful and soft off-white color that transforms spaces into “magazine-worthy” sophisticated interiors. I would describe this color as a subtle creamy off-white that has a slight (very slight) beige undertone. Honestly, it really comes out looking very white/creamy and not yellow-y at all, which I know is a concern for many. Think Greek columns of old, or a villa on the Greek coastline…maybe that is why they named it that? Not only is Greek Villa one of the most popular off-whites, I love how versatile it is. It can be used for trim, cabinets and main walls for interiors…

Agreeable Gray Color Review: Simple yet Awesome

Agreeable Gray Monochromatic Color Scheme smallMy last Featured Color was the bold and beautiful Cavern Clay (baked clay/rust color). This month, I’m going back to one of my “old faithful” neutrals: Agreeable Gray. Now it’s even more personal to me than ever before! We moved over Christmas and my new home has Agreeable Gray as the main wall and ceiling color. Honestly, as much as I love Agreeable Gray, I was hesitant at first…I loved our last home’s color, Lattice, so much and I was afraid that I would really miss the blue undertone. But, now that I’ve been living with Agreeable Gray for 6 months, I really love the softness and warmth of this gray/greige!

Pure White Color Review

1024x1024Pure White Color Review Feature Image ThumbnailWhites and off whites are having a big moment right now as the majority (not kidding!) of my clients want to go “lighter and brighter” with their main neutral color. Since the white and black trend is going strong, and the “all gray” palette fades a bit, whites and off whites are stealing the show as the main color for interiors as well as the main body color for exteriors. Pure White fits under the “greige white” category since it has a very slight warm greige undertone that keeps it from feeling too stark and bright. Pure White has been my saving grace for a “not too bright, not too warm” trim solution.

Top 3 Exterior Color Schemes

Top 3 Exerior Color Schemes Feature ImageOur exteriors, specifically the exteriors’ color scheme, are the introduction to our home. The “hello” before you ever even cross the threshold, if you will. The exterior color scheme of a house is the first thing that draws attention. “Curb Appeal” is a real thing! It’s not just a show on TV. If you have ever purchased or sold a home, you know this already even if you aren’t fully aware of it.

Shades of Gray: Favorite Gray Paint Colors

gray featured scaledGray paint, or just the color gray in general has been all the rage lately. “Gray is the new tan” or “Gray is the new beige.” Not sure if that is an official quote or if I just made that up, but it sounds about right! I love how gray creates a space that feels modern, clean and serene without feeling too cold (if you use the right shade of gray). It creates a good base…

Shoji White Color Review

Shoji White SW 7042 Monochromatic Color Scheme sm 1I love Shoji White and it’s been a color that I have been recommending A LOT lately. As you may have noticed, the gray trend has been going strong for a while. However, it is starting to trend back into whites and warmer neutrals. Before you panic, I promise we aren’t going back to the days of Tuscany golds! More like soft tans and beiges that don’t get a strong yellow/gold or orange undertone. And lots of whites! More and more of my clients are going lighter and brighter with either warm greige or beige off-whites.

Top 5 Benjamin Moore Whites + Off Whites

Top 5 BM Whites smThroughout this past year, one thing has become clear. Whites are in!! I have specified more off whites and whites than ever before. The majority of my Color Consultation clients are desiring “light and bright” interiors with pops of color in accents instead of the main paint color. There are 152 whites in the Benjamin Moore Off White Collection. I wanted to highlight my top 5 that I use most often and that are also some of the most popular.

My Favorite 8 Sherwin-Williams Dark Blue & Navy Paint Colors

my favorite 8 sherwin williams dark blue and navy paint colors 1I’ve been keeping a keen eye out for the latest color trends and it’s pretty obvious by now that the darker, moody blues are IT. I personally adore the color blue too. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know it’s true! Didn’t mean to rhyme there. If I had to nail down why I am drawn to shades of blue, I believe it’s the soothing effect it has on me. If you’ve ever delved into…

Quietude Color Review: Promote Serenity in your space

Quietude SW 6212 Monochromatic Color SchemeThis month’s featured color is Quietude, a favorite accent color, that has a nice blue-green undertone with a slight hint of gray in it to keep it from feeling too bright. Yes, blue again!!! Can’t stop. Won’t stop. Blue is taking color trends by storm and I’m totally fine with it!! Technically, Quietude is found in the “green” section of the Sherwin-Williams deck. It’s a tricky color because it can look blue in some lighting and more green in other lighting. Quietude is a color chameleon of sorts and that is why I am taking some liberty and calling it a blue!

Smoky Blue Color Review

Smoky Blue Monochromatic Color Scheme SMThis month’s featured color is Smoky Blue, a gorgeous medium-dark toned blue that has a slight gray undertone to keep it from feeling too bright. Look no further for the perfect accent wall color or deeper shade for your unique spaces. Smoky Blue is one of those colors that wasn’t on my radar, until it jumped out at me one day. I was looking for an accent wall for a client and it was the perfect shade of blue to coordinate with her color scheme. It was then that I realized how great this medium-dark “smoky” blue really was.

Tradewind Color Review

Tradewind Color Review sm 1This month, I’m focusing in on a soothing, beachy blue: Tradewind. I’ve actually specified this color several times because I love a serene look in master bedrooms and bathrooms. This color fits the bill perfectly in these spaces. If you love blue or if you are looking for that ideal spa retreat feel in your home, Tradewind just might be the one you have been looking for! I categorize Tradewind as a light blue with some slight gray undertones with the very tiniest hint of green. If you look at the darkest color on the paint swatch (Still Water)…

Cavern Clay Color Review

Cavern Clay Complementary Color Scheme smI am super excited about this month’s Color Review! Every year, each paint company comes out with a “Color of the Year.” Sherwin-Williams’ COTY for 2019 was Cavern Clay, a rusty clay color that I happen to really love. Especially paired with my fav color, blue! So, this month I am focusing in on this vibrant, earthy color to give you some tips on where to use this color on your exterior and interior. Cavern Clay has an orange-brown undertone that is best described as a baked clay/rust color. I like that it is a bold color without being super bright. Not only is Cavern Clay a perfect accent wall for any room in your house, but it also works as a front door color or even as the color inspiration for more decorative items (pillows, artwork, etc.).
