What is the Color Wheel?
One of the things that I am most proud of on the Rugh Design website, is the Color Wheel. Not sure what the Color Wheel is? Let me explain! Well, it really isn’t a wheel, but it was named after the “color wheel” that you think of when you learn how to mix colors in elementary art class.
Basically, we have outlined the colors in the Sherwin-Williams deck and paired them with coordinating colors for potential design schemes. For instance, if you are looking for a monochromatic scheme (different shades from light to dark of the same color) then you have four colors right at your fingertips to try!
We have been working on adding ALL of the Sherwin-Williams paint colors. We hope to update 25 colors a week and I wanted to highlight one color per week that stands out. Going forward you can find all of our Color Wheel Update posts here.
Featured Color: Drizzle SW 6479
This week, I wanted to focus on the color Drizzle SW 6479. Drizzle is a medium toned green-blue color that will get you dreaming of the ocean in no time! I mean, it totally makes sense why I picked it. I love blues and greens and I love the beach.
If you feel the same as me and are itching to try this color out in your home, check out the color schemes I believe will coordinate nicely with it.
Check out my Pinterest gallery for some inspiration. See below and let me know which one you like the most. If you have your own pictures, send them to me and I will post them!
Where to use Drizzle
I like to use Drizzle in areas that can stand a more saturated color, like in bedrooms or bathrooms. One of my long-time clients and friends has this color in her Powder Bath and it turned out beautiful! Laundry rooms are another area that are fun to paint a bright and happy color like Drizzle.
Drizzle isn’t only for interiors! I have also specified Drizzle for exterior accent colors, like front doors. Pictured below is the final product for one of my client’s exterior projects.

Leave me a comment if you have this color in your home or would like to try it. I would love to hear from you! Also, stay tuned for the next featured color from the Color Wheel…
