Again, what is the Color Wheel?
Just for a quick recap, we have been working on adding ALL of the Sherwin-Williams paint colors to the Rugh Design Color Wheel. So as the process continues, I wanted to highlight a color per week that stands out.
Last week I featured Drizzle, the beautiful green-blue color that will have you dreaming of the ocean in no time. If you missed the post, you can read all about it HERE.
Going forward you can find all of our Color Wheel Update posts here.
Featured Color: Keystone Gray SW 7504
This week, I wanted to focus on the color Keystone Gray SW 7504. Keystone Gray is a medium-toned, warm neutral “greige” color. It is in the same color family as Agreeable Gray, one of the most specified colors for interiors in my Color Consultations. That is one of the main reasons that I chose Keystone Gray. I also love that it is a bit darker than expected for interior wall paint and can really add some contrast against whites and lighter colors.
If Keystone Gray sounds intriguing and you want see what other colors and schemes could coordinate with it then check out the color schemes I believe will coordinate nicely with it.
Check out my Pinterest gallery for some inspiration. See below and let me know which one you like the most. If you have your own pictures, send them to me and I will post them!
Where to use Keystone Gray
Keystone Gray works well in most all spaces since it is so neutral. One caveat is to be mindful of using Keystone Gray in spaces that are smaller or have lower ceiling heights. Since it is a warmer, medium-toned color, it can make areas that are less spacious feel smaller. It can be a big bonus if you like to feel cozy in your space, but just be aware that it can also create a cave-like effect as well. I love the look of Keystone Gray in this dining area against the white trim and white plates on the wall.
Keystone Gray can also be used on exteriors. If you are looking for a main body color or even trim color, Keystone Gray is a perfect option for the farmhouse style similar to this inspiration picture.
Leave me a comment if you have Keystone Gray color in your home or would like to try it. I would love to hear from you! Also, stay tuned for the next featured color from the Color Wheel…
