The Rugh Design Color Wheel
To recap, we have been working on adding ALL of the Sherwin-Williams paint colors to the Rugh Design Color Wheel. Our plan was to have all 1700 colors up by the end of 2018, but it is looking more and more that we will have all the colors up by the end of the Summer! We only have about 90 colors to go! We will continue to release 25 new colors with my hand-picked color schemes each week. In addition to the new 25 colors a week I will highlight 1 color from Sherwin-Williams that I personally love or stands out.

Featured Color: Silver Strand SW 7057
This week I am highlighting Silver Strand a color that I often recommend for bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry rooms. I am not exclusive to those spaces, but I do love this soft blue-green color in these areas best.
Silver Strand is a cooler color that creates a spa-like and soothing atmosphere, especially in spaces that I mentioned above. If you like Sea Salt, Silver Strand is very similar in color, but with a bit more gray to it. So, if you are searching for a serene color that won’t get too pastel, Silver Strand could be the one that you are looking for!

Where to use Silver Strand
Here are a few of my favorite spaces to use Silver Strand...
Silver Strand as a bedroom color
The first inspiration picture that I found is a master bedroom painted in Silver Strand. Master bedrooms are perfect spaces for cooler blue-green colors for a soothing and peaceful feel. The bedroom is the place you retire after your long day and choosing to paint your room in a color that can help bring your blood pressure down a few notches is always a good idea. Silver Strand is an ideal color to do just that!

Silver Strand as a bathroom color
Perhaps the ultimate space to paint in a spa-like color is the bathroom. Silver Strand works beautifully in bathrooms, especially against fresh bright white tile and contrasting dark wood cabinets. My favorite thing about Silver Strand is that it is a blue-gray color, but it doesn’t get too bright or pastel looking because of the gray in the undertone.

Silver Strand as a dining room color
One last interior space that I love seeing painted in Silver Strand is the dining room. Often dining rooms are separate spaces from other areas of the home and it is nice to paint them a different color for some interest. Silver Strand is a perfect backdrop for gorgeous rich wood furnishings, crisp upholstered chairs, colorful artwork and a stunning chandelier.

Silver Strand on the exterior
If you are looking for a soft exterior, look no further than Silver Strand. I love the idea of a subtle contrast with white and Silver Strand and a pop of color for the front door, just like the inspiration picture below. Keep in mind that colors get lighter on exteriors, so Silver Strand will get a bit softer in tone. However, it’s a perfect beach house color or as an accent of any type of house!
