Charcoal Blue SW 2739 Review
As I said, this month I am giving my Charcoal Blue review. Charcoal Blue is a gorgeous dark blue-gray color, and oooh, I love this color. Technically, it’s classified as a navy, however, it does have more gray to it than a typical navy like “In the Navy.” In my opinion, having a bit of gray in a navy is a good thing. Nothing is worse than thinking you have a nice, rich navy color for your wall to then realize that it is actually bright blue. That being said, let’s bring on the Charcoal Blue!
For convenience here are my hand picked color schemes for Charcoal Blue. Be sure to visit the Charcoal Blue color scheme page to explore more!
Now that you have a basis and have seen my color schemes for Charcoal Blue, check out my Pinterest gallery for some inspiration. See below and let me know which one you like the most. If you have your own pictures, send them to me and I will post them!
Where to use Charcoal Blue SW 2739
Okay, so I will be completely honest. I am not the biggest fan of accent walls, however, done appropriately, they can be stunning. In the case of the inspiration picture below, it is the latter. This accent wall in Charcoal Blue is a stunner and creates the perfect backdrop for natural wood shelves and white matte framed artwork.
One place that I love to have fun with color is in powder bathrooms. I am sure if you have been reading my blogs for awhile, I have mentioned this. It’s a space that you can go a bit wild in: wallpaper, stenciling, trim, tile, bold color, you name it! Charcoal Blue works beautifully in this small bathroom pictured below with the white tile and fun accent furniture.
*Design Note: to insure that darker colors like Charcoal Blue don’t turn your space into a cave, be sure to contrast with white or light walls, artwork, flooring, etc. Both designers so far did just that!
Navy has been trending for awhile and so is painting cabinets in dark blue-gray, which I love! This master vanity painted in Charcoal Blue stands out against the unique large white hexagon tiles. I adore this look with the mirrors mounted on the tile wall! See what I mean about the contrast against the darker Charcoal Blue color? This is a perfect example! Lower kitchen cabinets or an island accent would also be a show-stopper in Charcoal Blue.
Interiors don’t have to have all of the fun with Charcoal Blue! Exteriors look just as pretty with this dark gray-blue color! I especially love the white trim contrast against Charcoal Blue that is pictured below. The natural wood shutters are also a perfect addition to add character to the exterior. Charcoal Blue would also make a perfect front door color if you are looking for a navy that won’t get too bright.
In conclusion, go get Charcoal Blue and put it somewhere on or in your home! If you are considering Charcoal Blue, the best way to find out if it is right for your space, is to grab a Peel & Stick Paint Sample and test it out.
